Graphic Design

Throughout my professional journey, I have consistently leveraged my graphic design skills to create projects centered around communication and education. Rather than relying solely on creative flair, I prioritize applying design principles and strategies to ensure my designs are practical and suitable for the target audience. Throughout my career, I have engaged in various forms of design work, encompassing traditional print design such as mailers, magazine layouts, billboards, and signage, as well as more contemporary digital projects like web design, video production, email marketing, app design, social media assets, and online advertising. Below, you will find a small selection showcasing my expertise as a graphic designer.

Philly Codefest

Client

Philly Codefest

About

Philly Codefest originated in 2013 as a weekend-long hackathon initially conceptualized by students from Drexel's College of Computing & Informatics. I designed the logo and initial marketing materials.

Design Process

To initiate the design process, I talked with students to gain a better understanding of their vision for the event. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo, with the clients making final color decisions. Subsequently, I designed various promotional items, including flyers, posters, and the user interface for the Philly Codefest website. A Drexel staff member handled the coding for the backend of the website. In preparation for the event, I also created graphics tailored for large digital screens and designs for participant t-shirts, mugs, and bags.

About

These flyers were specifically designed to serve as informative resources at open houses and conferences. Their primary purpose was to present concise and easily readable information regarding different majors and provide data about recent graduates.

Design Process

In collaboration with a Drexel staff writer and marketing specialist, we identified the critical information that needed to be conveyed. Based on this, I created graphical images to represent each fact or statistic. The brochure featured Drexel University's brand colors and fonts, ensuring consistency with the institution's visual identity. A skilled staff photographer at Drexel was enlisted to provide photography for the project.

Bridge Magazine

Client

Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics

About

Bridge Magazine was a quarterly publication put out by the College of Computing and Informatics that highlighted faculty accomplishments, current student work and alumni success.

Design Process

I worked closely with the writer and editor of the magazine to plan the publication, including preparing the stories and figuring out the designated space allotments per story. While Drexel’s writer/editor was writing the magazine, I began developing the layout design and working with the staff photographer for images. Lastly, we added in the copy and made adjustments to the layout, and final editing took place before preparing the document for print.

Onrevolute Album Artwork

Client

Dave Weiner

About

Promotional materials and a website were created to support the marketing of Dave Weiner's second album onrevolute.

Design Process

I created the graphical bird-like image by initially sketching it on paper and later refining it digitally using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The clients provided input on fonts and colors, seamlessly integrated into the design to produce the album cover. Collaborating closely with the client, I designed and developed the promotional website. Additionally, I collaborated with them on designing the shirts. Finally, I created a mock-up design for the Ibanez guitar, which was then skillfully hand-painted by an artist at Ibanez.
